CAN BE APPLIED TO MOLD ON THE MACHINE AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE

PAINT STICK CAN BE USED ON CLEAN MOLDS OR ON MOLDS WITH CARBON BUILD-UP

DRIES ON CONTACT

ECONOMICAL – SHORT SECTIONS CAN BE FUSED TOGETHER OR A SHORT PIECE TO A NEW STICK – NO WASTE
Markal H Paint Sticks are applied by touching the interior of the hot mold cavity, causing it to melt and to leave a white coating at the point of contact. The application is quick and is made without interruption to the glass forming process.

We recommend that Markal Type H Paint Sticks be used in the following places on the finished mold equipment:
  • On top of the mold so there will be no mold checks underneath the finish.
  • On the seams of the mold so that there will be no seam checks.
  • On the lettering or difficult undercut patterns.
  • Around the bottom half of the mold on the bottom plate, so there will be no heel checks.
  • To reduce carryover, you can swab over the painted area almost immediately.
  • On blank and neck ring match or blank and baffle match.
Some people heat molds in oven to about 600°F, then outline the mold and bottom plate with paint stick before shutting down a section and changing the mold.
